An exciting day today as a film crew from the BBC arrived to film at the centre. Many thanks to the parents who took part and the children who were filmed were amazing! We'll let you know when it airs!
You may have noticed that we currently don't have a sign for our centre - good things come to those who wait! Renowned artist Kelzo has agreed to paint the large space above our centre entrance. Kelzo has worked all over the world and has recently been commissioned to paint a huge mural on the side of Manchester Children's Hospital. We are very honoured that he has agreed to give up his time to bring some much needed public art to Urmston, as well as giving us a unique and eye-catching "shop front". We are currently working with Kelzo on designs for the mural but check out the video link below for an idea of what it could look like!
wow what an amazing few days. last week we recruited the cherub gang. and what a team they've turned out to be, enthusiastic, fun, confident, team spirited and love to entertain the children. We have one that even does Sign language. Our chefs are amazing in the kitchen, creating there own coleslaw, dressings, scones etc. loads of ideas for future dishes.
Thanks to everyone who turned out for the Grand Opening. Wayne Devlin a very talented Trafford Answer to Frank Sinatra, Danielle Hope sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow beautifully and declared us officially open. Frank was a great compare and DJ. We had various government officials visit. Carl Briggs Entertained us in the afternoon as Robbie Williams.
We had a few hiccups along the way like the electrics blew in the kitchen so we were unable to serve coffee or hot food but both customers understood and the cherub team coped amazingly well.
Today we had a leak which has been fixed by the speediest plumber known to man. And tomorrow the chefs are cooking Curry, who's coming?
