We have been working behind the scenes to make this Community Interest Company ready for the community. The budget is extremely tight and we are extremely grateful to those who are taking their time out to help us paint (Steve, Ernie and Helen) and build walls (Carl and Liam). We are in need of some lino to go in our party room upstairs, so if you know of somewhere cheap or better still free, let us know. Thanks to Casey and Anais for helping with the wall art. xxx
The play frame will be inspected for safety tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that it passes. the structure only took 7 days to erect By the fab team at King of Castles. I asked one of the children what they thought and he said Amazing. Says it all really. We still have a lot of work to do yet
the slide was delivered yesterday, today it needed bolting together. The boys worked tirelessly to get the slide ready to go on the structure.
Most of the day was spent building flat packed cabinets for the pop up shops and the boys putting netting round the structure.
Oh and the slide arrived Yippee! We opened up for the lads at 8am and they didn't muck about they got straight on with putting the safety netting on the structure. We had a meeting in the afternoon to discuss the project plan and decide on an open date. We will open our doors on Sunday 20th July!!! xx
The lads made a start at 8am. They covered every bit of scaffolding with sponge piping by lunch. Then after lunch they covered the sponge with material. The children were aloud to test the spinning disc! such fun! tomorrow the netting goes on.
On the morning of Monday 9th June, we were almost ready for the biggest and most important delivery Cheeky Cherubs will ever have. We just had to clear the way (put back the ceiling tiles the cubs helped us paint the previous day). The lorry of goodies turned up at 12 o'clock. The men got to work straight away. Peek a boo!!! Among the goodies, bash bags and spiny discs we Found Nemo!!! The men worked really hard on this complex vortex of scaffolding like structure. After just 6 hours of hard graft the skeleton of the toddler/baby area was erected. And so was the main frame. Well done lads, remarkable.
